- Manufacturing4all drives a digital transformation accessible to all companies.
The manufacturing industry has undergone an unprecedented transformation thanks to the digital revolution, a phenomenon known as industry 4.0.
Industry 4.0 is defined as the integration of advanced technologies into industrial processes, using interconnection, artificial intelligence, data analysis and automation. This fourth revolution involves the combination of advanced production and operations techniques with smart technologies that are integrated into various fields, influencing the market, especially in the creation, efficiency and competitiveness for companies.
The Manufacturing4all project aims to bring small municipalities closer to Industry 4.0, making advanced technologies affordable and accessible to companies. The European project goes beyond adapting technologies and aims to build an inclusive ecosystem where every actor in industry can benefit from digital transformation.
With a budget of €60,000 funded by the European Commission through the ERASMUS+ programme, the European project will encourage the involvement of young unemployed people and existing industries in the project implementation regions in a process of educational, digital, and entrepreneurial transformation. The aim is to find innovative solutions to a problem common to many southern European regions: industrial recession, the exodus of young people to the big cities and, consequently, the negative demographic growth of certain regions.
The adoption of Industry 4.0. in the Manufacturing4all project brings with it several significant advantages that drive its purpose of making digital transformation accessible to all companies, regardless of their size. Some of the key advantages are universal accessibility, product customisation by implementing smart manufacturing systems that enable greater product customisation. It also leads to improved quality through real-time monitoring and data analysis, which allows quality problems to be proactively identified and corrected. Finally, the application of automation in production processes reduces costs and enables continuous innovation by adapting to market changes.
The Manufacturing4All consortium is formed by 4 entities: Onil City Council, MESTIERI LOMBARDIA, FunkWeb and the Finnova Foundation.
